BACK TO OUR ORIGINS

Shanling started in 1988 as a traditional Hi-Fi company, designing and manufacturing machines for home hi-fi and stereo speakers. But in last few years, we focused more on the portable market, with our players, earphones and Bluetooth products. This is changing in 2021 and we are going back to our roots of home audio

INDEPENDENT STREAMING CENTRE

Running deeply customized closed Android, EM5 serves as a standalone music system. No need for computer or complicated setting up, just direct access to your music collection and streaming services.

SEPARATED POWER SUPPLY

To achieve the ideal sound performance in such complicated device, we decided to split the power supply between two sections. Analog components are powered by a small and highly efficient toroidal transformer, in combination with high-performing German capacitors, helping to achieve cleaner and smoother sound.

SHANLING HOUSE SOUND

To provide you with our typical smooth and natural sound, we picked a classic AKM AK4493EQ DAC chip for EM5. Combined with high-quality, power supply, Hi-Res playback capabilities and our 33 years of design experience, you can expect true Hi-Fi sound.

BALANCED AMPLIFIER

OP + BUF Audio Architecture

Based upon our well proven audio architecture, EM5 got a newly designed 4-channel balanced amplifier circuit, assuring low distortion, perfect control and impressive power output.

CPAF low-pass filtering technology

Our in-house developed Constant Phase in All Frequency technology.

KDS Crystal Oscillators & 3rd Generation FPGA

Two Japanese KDS active crystal oscillators and Shanling's improved algorithm provides more accurate clock signal and effectively reduces jitter.

Each channel is using one amplifier from Texas Instruments, picked for their impressive performance at low distortion and fast slew rate.

High Precision Thin Film Resistors

With 0.01% accuracy and great stability, thin film resistors represent a key part of EMS's design.

Panasonic Tantalum-Polymer Capacitors

High accuracy, less sensitivity to temperature fluctuation and great long-term reliability, making them staple part of audio designs.

2.4G / 5G DUAL-BAND WI-FI

Enjoy faster transfer speeds, reduced interferences and smoother streaming with support of the 5G Wi-Fi.

STREAMER OVER BLUETOOTH

EM5 offers a two-way Bluetooth connectivity, for an easy music streaming from your phone or for the moments when you would like to use Bluetooth head, phones or speakers with it.

Our Eddict Player app (available for Android and iOS) allows you to take a complete control over the EM5 from your smartphone or tablet. Offering a complete display mirroring, giving you access to all features of the EM5 from comfort of your chair.

ADJUSTABLE GAIN

Thanks to 4 different gain settings, EM5 can be easily paired with a wide range of headphones, from sensitive IEMs to the demanding full-size headphones.

BALANCED OUTPUTS

Utilizing both 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm jack, EM5 can be used with a vast majority of balanced headphones. And for anything else, there is still the standard 6.35mm output.

MQA COMPATIBLE

EM5 support 8X MQA playback from locally stored files, Streaming apps and over USB input.

AGLO TECHNOLOGY

Thanks to the AGLO (Android Global Lossless Output), music from all apps will be processed correctly and at its full quality, without any degradation caused by Android's processes.

AIRGAP DESIGN

Allowing for a faster and more effective heat dissipation effect in the compact body of EM5.

HI-RES CERTIFICATION

EM5 received the Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio certifications from the Japan Audio Society.
