In 2016, the community of music lovers began to meet again with the name Miracord, which is the traditional name of Elac turntables manufactured in Kiel for several decades until the advent of CD players. Launched 3 years later, the Miracord 60 is ready to write the next chapter in this unique saga of Elac audiophile turntables.
The Miracord 60 has been designed to build on the worldwide fame and striking looks of the successful Miracord 90 and creates a new class in the Elac turntable range. The result is a record player that does not question its pedigree, while emphasizing its individuality. The new Miracord 60 brings the meaning of smooth vinyl precision to perfection at the most exposed price point.
Carbon fiber arm
The lightweight carbon fiber arm mounted on a gimbal bearing offers flexibility in the choice of carry thanks to the removable head. Freedom in this direction is enhanced by the adjustable VTA and azimuth scanning angle. The audio signal is routed from the portable to the gold-plated RCA connectors. A complex grounding network ensures a sound experience free of noise and hum.
Aluminum plate
The Miracord 60 is fitted with a massive plate, with a diamond beveled edge, made of 22 mm thick die-cast aluminium. The custom integrated rubber damping used mostly on high-end machines combines a top felt mat instead of the simple DJ-style rubber pad used by many competitors in this price range. This damping eliminates any unwanted platter resonance even more effectively than the mat itself.
Servo controlled DC motor
The Miracord 60 has a built-in optical sensor that sends its signal to the PID algorithm in the microcontroller, which then tunes the speed of the DC motor. The result is extremely low velocity dispersion and wow & flutter, providing unmatched audio performance. If necessary, the engine including its suspension can be hidden under a machined aluminum cover.
Wooden chassis board with piano varnish
The massive base of the Miracord 60 turntable is made from one piece of 50mm thick MDF board. Its external shape and internal structure is machined on CNC mills with a tolerance of 0.1 mm. A high-gloss, high-quality paintwork underlines the appearance of the Miracord 60 turntable. The 2.5mm thick anodized aluminum sides create a great contrast to the elegant and smooth black paintwork.
Freedom of choice
Miracord 60 offers tremendous flexibility to the end user when choosing a portable device. There is no specific carry case included in the accessory, but the Miracord 60 is open to almost anything anyone might want to fit, as it can handle almost any type of system: 3.5 - 15g at 0.5 - 5p downforce.
