DAC ES9038PRO

Both left and right audio channels include the ES9038PRO 8-channel flagship desktop-class DAC. This means each audio channel has 8 parallel outputs added together for extremely clear sound reproduction.

THX 788+HEARING AMP

Desktop-level amplification also plays an important role with the M17. FiiO and THX have jointly developed the exclusive THX AAA-788+, an improved version of the original operational amplifier. Compared to the original, the output power is increased by 225% to up to 3000 mW per channel with a lower output impedance - allowing all kinds of headphones to be powered effortlessly.

POWER

With battery power, 4 power levels are available: low, medium, high and headphone mode. DC mode unlocks enhanced mode amplification over headphones with true desktop level amplification. In balanced output, the gain can reach up to 16 dB - allowing the M17 to easily drive most headphones.

The M17 incorporates two power supplies - a battery power supply and a power supply powered by external DC power. The battery power supply allows the M17 to be used in situations where there is no access to an electrical outlet. With DC power, the voltage across the analog circuit increases by 35% to 11.5 V compared to battery power; and the battery remains healthy because it is not used in this mode.

Exceptional sound quality comes with high power consumption, so when designing the M17, great emphasis was placed on efficient heat dissipation. Not only have 'H' type heat dissipation and VC liquid cooling technologies been adopted, but the M17's 15lg aluminium alloy unibody frame also transfers heat out of the unit efficiently. Finally, the cooling fan stand further ensures the heat is quickly dissipated away.

INTERNAL CALIBRATION

- TI OPA2211 high-end operational amplifier
   Voltage noise of 1.1 nV@1 kHz and THD+N of -136 dB results in extremely clean amplification.
- 470mF DMF supercapacitor
   The equivalent of 10,000 47uF tantalum capacitors with a very low ESR of 45 mΩ (only 15% of the value for tantalum capacitors), providing a solid foundation for large power supplies.
- Ultra-low noise LT3045 LDO
   Ultra-low noise, ultra-high PSRR low-dropout linear voltage regulator with LDO Linear Technology architecture with extremely low RMS noise of 0.8μVRMS in the 10Hz-100kHz frequency band for stable and clean DAC chip power supply.
- NDK femtosecond crystal oscillator
   Provides a high precision unified low jitter clock source for the entire audio circuit.
